How do I fix Homelite gas blower?

My Homelite BX90 won't run for more than a few seconds. It starts with the choke on, runs for about 5 seconds with choke 1/2 way on, then dies. I've cleaned the plug but can't get it to stay running. It is also harder to start then normal. Any advice would be appreciated.

I have a model(#UT08550)Homelite gas blower with a similar
problem as above.I discovered that the fuel lines are gone.I purchased fuel line tubing from a local shop.
Problem is I can't remember which line goes on the fuel
filter. Are there any pictures available to help me with this
problem? The unit was built in '07 I bought it in summer of
'08.Seems though that it should last longer than 2 summers!(Ethenol) fuel?

(homlite BX 90,no idle, complete fix, upgrade, older modles,)yes, well we have mastered this problem,it drove me CRAZY for years, really, Step 1. after you know the rings, plugs, gas lines, carb, mag are ok .ie runs good will not idle,go to step 1A, 1A.w/ blower facing forward(air tube straight out) locate small body tab(left and next to the top of air cleaner)(measure 1mm up and 1mm over on tab and drill for rivet, this will hold the 3mmLx2.0wmm FLAT piece of your choice of alumiunm,or metal. 2.make bracket 3mmLx2.0mmW, width does not matter how ever beefy you want. does not have to be exact,,round the end that the rivet goes thur,it makes it not as visable. 3.hold bracket to the BACK side of body tab you drilled earlier, and mark and drill bracket mount, DO NOT rivet it yet. 4. hold drilled bracket up to where it mounts and set at about 8oclock this is the angle it will sit after you drill and attach the linkage stop you are FIXEN to make.. 5.seperate body housing. 3. remove black stop, idle knob and throw away, use 5.0mmW theard rod cut 6.5mm L, make one end fat, grinded weld end or a fat flat ie vac cap over nut end that lets the factory thottle link rest nice. 4 .cut thread rod 6.5mml. 5.tempoary bolt bracket in place of rivet at 8,0clock angle, 6. temporary place body half,s togother. 7. take rod linakge you built 6.5mmL with one end nice for thottle stop end,(vac cap over nut works ok,but not as nice as grinded, welded end) and line up linkage stop end to the undrilled end of your temparoy installed bracket, here you might have to put a slight bend in your bracket if so take it off and adj, because you dont wanna break off body tab,set fat end at thottle linkage end and unfinished rod end out, get this set and remove bracket and drill end of bracket 0.8mm in and middle oppiste rivet end,the rod will go thur here after you weld to nuts to each side of your drilled bracket. 8. install rod thur nuts you just attached to you bracket. 9. place lock nut on un finished end of rod. 10. weld wing nut on end of the rod you just placed lock nut, this is for pricise idle control. 11. check, you should have 1 assy bracket that contains 1 6.5mml rod w/finished ends, rest end,adj end, attached to a bracket, but not rivited to the body yet. 12.IF YOUR MODEL DOES NOT HAVE A COIL CUT WIRE THAT NOW,OR ENGINE WILL NOT SHUT OFF. 13.models w/o coilcut, remove engine, finish coil cut curicut, connect coil cut lead,to mini toggle, toggle to ground, you will have to drill or notch a couple of rounting holes,to make it look nice, and the halfs fit good, while you in there give the plug wire some more room instead of being so smushed, dremel works nice, mount you toggle of choice, top motor side works nice, engine cover hides the wires. 14.assy blower Check your bracket works nice and moves the thotttle linkage w/o binds. 15 rivet finished adj bracket, sit back and set to your idle speed of choice, NO MORE TRYING TO FIX IDLE W/ carb adj, heavy duty and price idle control. check out our music 60cyclehumm digital soul

You have all the clues as to what is wrong. It only runs with the choke on which means the engine is not getting enough fuel. Either you gas is old (gasoline evaporated leaving too much oil), or the oil gummed up the high speed needle assembly in the carb. The fix is to flush the fuel tank with only gasoline (do not run the engine) pressing the primer bulb several times to force it through the carb, then drain and refill with new mixed gas. IF it still doesn't run, you must adjust the high speed needle open 1/4 turn (screw out CCW).
