a warning light not listed in the vauxhall zafira owners manual has stayed on. it's a car with a spanner across it. any ideas? the car is 2.0 dti.

i had the same problem i took it to a garage which put it on a diagnostic which said change ecu. but then a specialist said he had the same with a other zafriara and it had bo oil in. ,wen i checked mine it was bone dry and wen it out oil in the light went off. so check ur oil and see if it goes off

This is the engine management light. I had this happen. I had it checked out and it turned out to be the second brake sensor switch (not a safety issue). Just got the switch changed on next service.

Hello, the light on the instuments with a spanner through it is a secondary engine management light showing an emissons related problem, it should be in the hand book. It means that there is a problem with engines management system. poss. a faulty sensor. You may find that the engine will not rev over 4.500 r.p.m. and perform poorly when the light is on. This means the engine management has gone into what they call limp home mode. It's a mode to prevent any permanant engine damage. The loacal dealer is the best option to read off that code causing the light to come on and prevent you spending money on an incorrect diag. sorry!

Sounds like the "Time for a service light". If your car was serviced on time, the mechanics should have reset it but may have forgotten. Shouldnt be anything to worry about though!
