im removeing my engine to put another one in ..how do i seperate the drive shafts and can i leave the gear box in or has it got to come out to.........im not a mechanic so easy ways please

to remove the driveshafts first undo them from the hub then undo bottom ball joint and split from hub via a balljoint seperator then when the driveshaft is free from that end carefully tap the joint out of the gearbox using a prybar or punch when free remove completely from car remembering to catch the gearbox oil then its easier to remove the engine nd gearbox as a whole unit change the box to the new engine then replace as a complete unit u can leave the gearbox in place but it is difficult to line the two units up in the engine bay
