Hotpoint wm51?

My daughters machine tripped the earth leakage
Now there is no motor movement
although the programmer will go through the fill empty cycle.
I have replaced the motor with one which I know is ok
But still the same .
Can the programmer be repaired as I am quite good with electronics
Also I have a programmer which looks the same except it has a few more components on could this be used?
I would hate to buy a new programmer for somthing that would cost a few pounds to replace.

if as you say your savvy with electrical gizmos then I suggest you run a series of tests thru the machine''s individual components to isolate what is obviously an earth leakage fault. Start with the heater element then the pump and so on. Dont forget to isolate each individual component from its wiring. And do not attempt these tests with the machine connected to the mains.
