how do you open the trunk when the electrical doesn't work?

My 2001 JAGUAR XJ8 HASE A TRUNK THAT IS LOCKED. THE KEY FOB, AND THE DASH CONTROL AND THE KEY IN TO THE TRUNK ALL MAKE THE ELECTRICAL NOISE BUT THE TRUNK WON'T RELEASE. HOW DO I GET IN TO THE TRUNK --- THROUGH THE BACKSEAT?

I have a 1998 XJ8 - so yours may be different. But on mine there is a place to insert the key in the "XJ8" sign. I never noticed it until I needed (in my case because I was storing the car and wanted to disconnect the battery). It's worth a look before resorting to the saw!

Hi,
This is what I did when I had the same problem. Take a circular saw and carefully and I mean very carefully, these are expensive luxury cars, cut a hole in the trunk big enough to remove what ever it is that you need from the trunk. Problem solved
