Skoda Fabia Estate boot release?

My Fabia has a cable operated boot release with a lever to the right of the drivers seat. Most of the time it works fine - except in very cold weather when it only partially releases the boot lid. I have to get out, push it down firmly and try again. Any ideas?

mine has the same problem. Its just the cable has got a little bit slack and not pulling fully. If you can get the boot open, where the latch for the lock is there is a plastic window. Take it off. You can see the cable in there with two nuts to adjust the tension. Tighten it.

No answer I'm afraid, but the same problem if its any consolation - only ours isn't just when its cold it also happens if we park facing uphill and then fairly regularly on other random occasions
