Bernina 700 Zig Zag stitch?

The needle moves left and right OK, and punctures the fabric, but all I'm left with is a row of straight stitch?? on the right hand edge of the zigzag.

Can anyone help?

Try a new needle first, if it still does not pick up the stitches e-mail me below for attachment of timing instructions.
