i had a code 1870 which is transmissionis slipping i had the trans checked and they was not a thing wrong the guy at the trans place could not explain i want to know what are we missing and how do i fix this isue

I've just check the web through google search box entering 2000 GMC and there is an apparent recall on certain models so check it out it may be yours is in recall list.
