Why does my Craftsman 12 HP tractor stall when the mower is engaged?

When I engage the mower on my Craftsman 12 hp riding tractor, the engine stalls. Otherwise the tractor runs fine. The tractor is about 10 years old.

I'm no help but have the same problem. When the brake is disengaged after starting, my craftsman riding mower stalls. Any ideas.

Craftsman should stick to hand tools. I had a Craftsman mower and after 1 season, threw it over the fence!
