citroen picasso 2.o hdi low oil pressure?

it looses power above 65 mph for few seconds and check engine appears . then it comes back. when i switch the engine off on dash board appears : stop low oil pressure. the oil level is fine. it is because it has done more than 288000 miles? should i change the engine or do some simple repairs??? please send answer to niewgreg@yahoo.co.uk

splash out and buy a new car that one belongs in a scrap yard with that sort of miles.

An oil pump does not give you oil PRESSURE,it is your main crankshaft bearings i.e big ends that give the pressure no matter how much oil you have in it,288000 miles youv'e had your monies worth,go to a garage and give it a treat.
