Rowenta DX8900 steam iron?

My Rowenta DX8900 is leaking. How can I disassemble to find out where? Can it be fixed at home without going to a repair shop?
Vickie, October 2008
You may just may be able to repair it at home but will probably need special security tools to dismantle it. Irons are generally not designed to be repairable - they want to sell you a new one.

A fix in a "repair shop" is probably not an option. Parts and labour will quickly overtake £50.
