Starting trouble (MT300X)?

I have an old McCulloch MT300X, the engine will not start, I am 99.99% sure that this is due to there being no spark at the plug, is the moulded coil known for faults? HT lead seem to be fine, plug checked on other reliable system and is ok...any ideas anyone?

Check the Stop switch wires for electrical continuity to the main body. If there is, then there's a short somewhere between the wires and the main body. This means that the Stop switch is effectively in the OFF position all the time.
