ASEA cylinda 12000. stops cycle between 2 and 3 on control. why?

Brilliant machine , now done over 20 years work. The cycle stops between 2 and 3 on the control (does not fill with hot and cold for wash cycle) By advancing control we can skip this cycle and rinsing/ spinning completes as normal. Any ideas guys?

We have full circuit diagram and sequence diagram for ASEA 7000 dryer if anyone interested, but not for 12000.

I have a similar problem with my Cylinda 12000 in that it gets to position 4 after beginning the cycle on 3 and stays washing there, but if I move the knob on slightly it continues normally (rinsing, spinning etc.). Changing the (very expensive!) timer made no difference. It's been suggested to me that the inlet valve solenoids may be at fault, but I've yet to check. I know this is a very late reply, but it may be useful to someone. Yes, it is a brilliant machine. I bought mine in late 1989.

Hi Douglas, same machine, similar problem, this one is not spinning. It used to start spinning then not stop. Have you had any luck repairing yours. I'm looking for a manual as we speak. Excellent machines - may be hand washing this weekend though.
