If you just want to remove the soap dispenser lid to retension its spring, I found that this can be done easily as follows.
With the soap dispenser lid open, you can see that it hinges on a white plastic pin at either end. The left-hand pin has the spring around it, and the round end of this pin can be seen protruding inwards. The pin is an interference fit and easily pushes out to the left, revealing the head of the pin which can then be pulled out the rest of the way, freeing the lid. The spring comes off with the lid and can be pulled out.
