1999 Sharan with key operated central locking . all passenger doors lock and unlock OK with central locking . BUT the tailgate will NOT OPEN! even when using key in the tailgate lock itself? From inside the car how can i get the damn door open ????? GGGgrrrr!

Sharan is same car as Alhambra and Galaxy.

it seems the same problem as mine. check the wires going to the tailgate. it should be on the hinges. try fiddling with it and work your remote. if it triggers opening it then you have to replace the wires. open your tailgate by using the key.

Sorry can't help but suggest phone a dealer and ask them for a telephone number of the vehicle manufacturer and check they have tech services who should be able to tell you how without causing damage to the cover panel.
