How can I stop one radiator overheating?

I have Oil CH. With no Room thermostat. But each radiator has a temperature control (1-8etc.) One of our radiators seem to be constantly on max & then takes an age to cool down. The radiator thermostat is set on min, but seems to make no difference

Thanks for the advice, but I'm a bit of a novice on this. One do I need to turn off the radiator before I start taking the thermostatic valve off? An two is there a particular tool I need to take the head off as I can't just pull it off & am not sure which bit to unscrew! Sorry!

your thermostatic Valve on your radiator is most likely stuck open . try taking the head of the thermostatic valve should just be a black plastic nut on the bottom side of the head. once off you should see a silver pin on the top of the valve body get a flat headed srew driver , holding it horizontially try and press down the pin sometimes they jam . if this doesnt work you will prob need to change the valve
