I installed my Lexmark 8350 printer but my laptop runs Windows Vista and the CD is for Windows XP. I have located a download for Windows Vista but cannot UNINSTALL the Lexmark 8350 (for Windows XP) and therefore cannot install the version for Windows Vista.

there is a program which lexmark have which will all traces of the software from you computer
i do have this and it worked for me

I have the exact same problem. I cannot uninstall Lexmark , because everytime I try it promts a message: Your version is not compatible with windows Vista" I tryed to uninstall by using the Control Panel: Uninstall programs, and by going to Programs: Uninstall Lexmark. The problem deleting files directly is that you may damage the registry and have other problems later. I e-mailed Lexmark with this problem and I hope they have come with a solution.

My Husband has reently had problems with this very printer the best thing i can suggest is to go onto the Lexmark website and uninstall the drivers then you will be free to re install.

I assume that you can't simply right click on its icon and then choose Delete but I don't see why you can't.

I also don't see why you can't install the Vista drivers.

Try a NEW question with more detail of goes wrong.
