i have a kangoo van 2001 model it wont start due to the imoboliser not switching off ...renault said to me a new key was a no no because in 2001 renault made 500 models with no code inside the key therfor they couldnt make me a new key but suggested i change my ecu unit and all the things that go along with the ecu unit costing over 1000 pounds !....surley there must be another way

hi there you need to try another dealer and give them your vehicle details and say you wont a spare key for your vehicle and see if they can supply one and if they can ask if it will need programming to the vehicle or will it work the immobiliser just by putting the new key in the ignition, and if they cant supply anew key ask why not ,and what is the reason,if you are still struggling to get a key for your vehicle, contact renault customer services,and see if they can help, if they cant help then to replace the system ,all you should have to buy is a new decoder,or uch,which ever is fitted on the vehicle and new keys ,hope this helps.
