Zanussi Condenser Dryer TC 7114 W?

We have just moved and once we had the dryer in place I put it on to dry some clothing. About 20 mins into the cycle the dryer stopped and the tank light came on. When I opened the door and took out the tank there was only a small amount of water in the tank. I flushed out the condenser too in case it was that and still the tank light was on. Called out an engineer (who was obviously very bad at playing poker) and charged us £25 for pulling off the drain plug and emptying the water content of the machine all over my kitchen floor. Needless to say that the problem still isn't fixed and am now operating the machine without the drain plug in and the water being soaked up by a very large towel. Any clues as to where I might find the problem?

there is a float switch in these and this is what makes the light come on.this will require you to remove the side panels to get access to the float micro switch.these tend to get blocked with fluff that ends up in the bottle valve connection on the dryer, again by taking the back panel off you can get access and see the valve is clear of soggy fluff.
