Vax Swift Hoover burning smell?

Hi my Vax Swift hoover has a strong burning smell and doen't pick up.

It switches on perfectly and makes the right noise and pushes along just fine.

I have cleaned the brushes/rota bar and checked the belt and they are fine.

Any ideas ?

Hi my Vax Swift hoover upright has a very strong burning smell when i turn it on for a few seconds it picks up and moves along fine i took top off and had a look at the motor and belt the brushes are clean cause i have only used it 3 times...
