brother intellifax 1270e won't send faxes but is receiving, how do I fix it?

It was working fine and today my boss told me it's receiving faxes fine, but it won't send. We checked the destination number just to be sure. It isn't sending out anything.
Any ideas on what to do?

- Can you make a copy?

If so, try sending a fax MANUALLY, that is, dial the other number as if you were making a regular phone call.
Wait until the other machine answers with a series of 'chirps' then press the 'Start' button on your fax machine.
