It could be the brushes but they are not as easy as the older models to change and the only way to find if they are worn is to remove them. To replace them with the motor in place you would have to tilt the machine forward quite a lot so you can get access to the under side of it where motor is located, rest it agains a cupboard or get someone to hold it so it does'nt fall back on top of you. Each brush is held in by two screws, once these have been removed they should come out easely. Remember to disconnect the machine from the mains power supply before touching the motor.
