Should you attempt to oil a Singer 7422?

Should you attempt to oil a new Singer 7422, or are they supposed to be self oiling?

Hi Ken,
Thanks for your help. I bought my machine on ebay, it is obviously brand new and unused although I suspect the seller may have had it in the box for approx 8 months without using it - hence the possible lack of oil you suggest. I really do not want to return the machine as it is great but do you have any idea how much it may cost to get the bobbin winding problem fixed? Really appreciate any advice. Thanks again.

Hello Den,
You should lightly oil all moving parts that you can see preferably with WD40 but don't overdo it.
