I have a mark 2 ford mondeo 1996
I can control the heater hot cold and the in betweens and the direction but cannot use the fan.
though if i put it on the off possition it does turn of, when on a fan setting it allows a slight airflow of my disired heat come threw.

i just changed my heater resistor on my mondeo ,, thanks to this forum ,, its fixed the blower working well on all 4 speeds , now cost from ford dealer was £35 for resistor and the wire loom required.. easy job took me around 45 mins to get to it easily by removeing glove box enabling me to see the resistor which is located on the air duct,, mine was a white one but the dealer said they updated it ,, so now it wont burn out

This is the heater ristor that has packed up very common with mondeos you can them around the brakers for £2.00 or new from ford around £13.00.

it was the resister above the passenger footwell, cost 10quid from fords and all it needed was a phillips srewdriver

Sounds like a resistor pack failure
