Proform 730 SI space saver treadmill?

I have a Proform 730 SI space saver and I've been using it for many years now but yesterday, the treadmill wouldn't start up. I can hear a straining sound but the belt would not move. What do I need to do?

You can go to www.managemyhome.com to get a users manual.
My proform 730 si is doing the same kind of thing, we have had the motor checked and they said it was good. have had the motor control board checked and again no problems. we are giving up.. sending it to treadmill heaven. :)

These motors have capacitors that give them a jump start to get then going from standing still. If the capacitor gets weak or dies, the motor cannot develop enough torque to get the belt running. You can check if this is the case by starting the treadmill and then carefully try to drive the belt with your feet while standing on the belt. Once the belt starts moving, the capacitor is no longer needed, so the belt/motor should keep going. If this test doesn't work, and there is nothing jammed within the treadmill to keep it from running, then most likely your motor is bad.
Hope this helps.

sounds like your motor burnt out.

BTW, I'm looking for and owner's manual for this treadmill. Would you have one to sell?

Thanks
