How can I hide the crack in an antique curio cabinet ?

I was given an antique curio cabinet with curved glass sides. One of the sides has a diagonal crack near the top. Is there a way to strengthen and perhaps mend the crack ? Having it replaced would probably require a restoration craftsman which might be prohibitly expensive. If it can't be mended then perhaps I'll have to hide the crack with a drooping plant.

Maybe you could use the stuff that's for windshield repair. From what I've seen it appears to be a liquid (maybe polymer) that seeps into the crack and bonds it shut. Just a thought ...
