Smeg E1 error - how to I reset?

My Smeg DWF614SS dishwasher keeps stopping mid cycle displaying the E1 error code which I understand means the anti flooding system has been tripped. Dishwasher seems relatively dry inside and have, as the manual suggested, switched off, opened door and started again - but after sometime E1 code appears again - any ideas before I call the repair man out - I have tried turning it off at the mains and re-starting but this also makes no difference.

If the failure occurs after the main wash pump start (shortly after filling is complete) check that the lower spray arm is not split - a split spray arm will spray water directly at the lower door seal and cause the water to overwhelm the seal and end up in the base, triggering an error 1.

Take the right side panel off & check the O rings are sealing on the water inlet. I've had this problem for weeks & have done this & found the O ring have moved & leak water into the tray when filling & trips the anti flood device.

I left my dishwasher empty, open and switched off for a few (2-3 days) and then it just started working again as normal. I think I may be accidentilly tipping water in the gap by the hinge when loading the dishwasher and by leaving it open for a while, it drys out.

Hi Aneesa, it will mean that the base where the motor is has got water in it.I would call the engineer as if water gets on the motor it will short it and the costs will be much higher. All the best.,
