hi my car was ticking over and suddenly cut off

Hi, your engine is whats known as an iterferance fit which means in the event of the cambelt failing valve to piston contact is most likely!! it will mean doing a compression test to see if there is any damage and if there is the cylinder head will have to come off to assess the level of damage

1000 to 1600 pounds worth of damage,the 16valve engine has no clearance.damage will have occured
