VW Golf 1997 passenger door won't unlock?

The central locking is not working and has been disconnected. The doors have worked normally with a key since then. Now the passenger door will not unlock either with the key or internally by the handle or the lift peg. In fact, the door key and peg both are immovable. Any ideas on how I can get the door open.

Bought a new handle for passenger door, complete with lock and 2 spare keys at a great price from Volksbits (08712 221750) for only £15. Then drilled barrel out of passenger faulty handle - I could then open the door using a flat headed screw driver, only damage was to the locks barrel. Once door was open was able to replace complete handle and lock as explained in car manual. Total job only took 2 hours.
Would suggest anyone looking for spares tries Volksbits as they were cheaper than breakers yard!

Use Google - search Car Locksmith or Auto Locksmith - they come to you - in Reading UK I use http://www.auto-locks.co.uk/

unfortunatley your car will have to go to a specialist to be repaired they are a nightmare when that happens i am sorry to be a bearer of bad news there is no other way around the matter
