Our Hotpoint SY36X single electric oven has worked ok for 4 years but now it runs for about 2 minutes then trips the RCD on the consumer unit. Until the RCD trips the oven warms up, the fan runs and the front panel indicator and internal light work.

I wonder if this points to an oven component fault or an RCD fault - perhaps someone can give advice.

i think it is probably your oven element ,had a similar prob and when it was replaced sorted out the issue
