The best way to explain is that it almosts starts. What I mean by that is that it does not just keep turning with nothing happening, its like the starting process does begin, but does not complete. I'm thinking glow plugs, or fuel not getting through. Any thoughts? If glow plugs, are they difficult to change?

hi dave,change your fuel filter & test your glow plugs
this is done by removing the power lead then run a wire from the positive on the battery & stroke it accross the top of the glowplug,if there's a spark the plug is working,if nothing happen's you will need to replace,this is done by removing with appropriate spanner by turning anti-clock wise taking care as the plug's may break,best of luck
