my laptop is run with vista basic, when i have an email attachment titled ....doc....i connot open it, is there anything that i can download to put this right, i also struggle with other documents too ,the only one that can open is pdf thanks

You won't be able to open Documents like .doc unless you have Microsoft Office Installed or maybe even just a Word Viewer to view them.
