how do i fix my hotpoint wd51 washer/dryer?

my washing machine fills with water but then trips out the electric when it goes to spin..i have to then empty the water out by hand and when theres little water in it the machine spins??? why won't it spin when the drum is full with water? i have even tried it on half load..still same thing...! we have cleaned the filters, changed the carbon brushes..and still the same thing..trips out when there is alot of water in the machine....please help!!

I have also heard that the motor brushes overheat and causes the electric to trip on these machines.

Sounds as if the drum isnt rotating freely - maybe the bearings are partially siezed? Try rotating the drum by hand. Is there a lot of resistance?
Could also be a partial short circuit in the windings of the motor which would require a new motor.
