related to how can i fix my miele G646 dishwasher?

I have had this exact problem with my miele dishwasher with the 'choking' noises and water on the floor. This seems like a fix, but does Pete mean you undo the screws on the side of the lower door panel, that is, as if you were to remove the white front panel?
Many thanks

I'm not Pete, but yes, take off the front covers by undoing the screws on the inside p of the door. You will see a black rubber pipe leading from the air vent.

Remove this - it just pulls off. You will find inside is full of what looks and feels like white grease. I clean this with a kettle of boiling water followed by a blow through (hint : don't suck ;) )I reattach the bottom end of the pipe, pour in more boiling water, and blow through again. The water vents out beside the soap dispenser.

I have a theory that the grease is caused by using eco dw tablets, and I have reverted to old fashioned powder. It hasn't returned YET. I dare say an occasional very hot was with an empty machine might be beneficial.
