When I release the handle on my?

6.25 HP Craftsman lawnmower, the mower does not shut right down. It coughs and burps and tries to continue to run for 15 or so seconds. Any remedy?

The kill wire from the magneto is not grounding out as it should be. The flywheel brake is stopping the engine. The wire should be going to the linkage at the end of the cable from your bail release. It may be dissconnected ot cut. This needs to be fixed right away!!!
