The left arm on my electric recliner is separating from the main part of the chair. I lean on it when I stand up and there is now about a two inch space between the seat and the arm. Is it repairable or not? I can't remember how long I've had it - I think about 5 years

My Lane recliner Serial Number 020142179 all of a sudden is leaning to one side. I found a spring next to it, the chair leans to the right side the same side the handle is on.

How do you get the spring back on? It won't streach that far. Do we have something wrong?

I have a Lane recliner serial number 016885692, Style number 11974. And I am looking for the instructoin booklet or service manual for the chair. If some one can help me out to replace the leg rest it would be nice. The chair is for my grandmother and she really likes it, so I would appreciate the help fast. She cannot sit in it in the shape that it is in.

I had the same problem on it wasn't the simple bolt. It is the recliner assembly steel actually broke near the section that connects to the back. Lane sent a new one but yipes look at what I have to do to fix it. There are no instructions.
Anyone have any instructions/ diagrams?

With the footrest up and facing the rocker you will probably find a 1/4" carriage bolt broken on the left side (again facing the rocker). A new bolt and saftey nut costs less than $1.00 at Home Depot, Lowes, or any hardware store. Turn the recliner on its back for better access. The spring goes between a pin on the back of the steel frame a semi-circular hook closer to the front. Takes less than 1/2 hour.
