can u advise on why a light on my dashboard came up and my engine cut out, i was told it was the clutch

hi
the light is the ignition system warning light. This is usually the lamber switch or the mix for what ever reason is not correct. sometimes after the light as been activated it has to be reset using a diagnostic comptur even though the problem as corrected its self.
