moving from 4th to 3rd and sometimes 2nd to 3rd gear?
I have a 2000 reg matiz that is grinding from 4th to 3rd and sometimes 2nd to 3rd. Had it to the grarge and they say it needs new gearbox any advice???
The gearchange cables on the Matiz are a common cause of poor gearchange and a 'notchy' feel to the gearlever. These cables run from the base of the gearlever to the gearbox and have a rubber bush or 'eye' at one end. it is usually this bush that wears and causes the problem, but the bush is not available separately, so the cable assembly must be changed. Much cheaper than a gearbox though!!

as its rolling when you change gear,its unlikley to be clutch related .so im with the garage
