NEW WORLD RICHMOND GAS COOKER - OVEN WON'T LIGHT?

The auto timer unit has gone gaga - reads 70.06 instead of time! At the same time the gas oven refused to light. Turn the regulo knob and instead of ignition clicking, nothing happens no clicks no gas - no nothing. Maybe the faulty timer is holding the oven in off mode waiting for a 'go cook' event that will never come [unless we ever get 70 hour days]? Any ideas will be appreciated - I'm getting spots from all the frying I'm doing!

Tony S is quite right. This happened to me with a nearly-new super-width cooker, and we had to have the clock replaced at a cost of £100 or so. Annoying, but that's life.

Unfortunately the timer does stop gas coming thro the oven if it has broken down in the automatic mode.Typically if it is a digital clock you cant do anything yourself. The clock needs changing.
