why is my fridge/freezer alarm going off frequently? it is a samsung DA68-01281A

Possibly caused by the trigger switch for the interior light which is not fully turned off when fridge door is shut? Since sticking a small strip of velcrose on the top of the fridge door we don't get the 'random' alarm bleeps.
