My Creda T522 VW tumble dryer won't heat up after a power surge?

We had a power surge at home and now the tumble dryer won't heat up although the drum still turns. Is there a reset button or will it need a new element?

It may be the thermostat, common failure on these machines, and cheaper than an element too!
