noise from engine at low rev in 1st gear (honda accord 1996 2.2vtec)?

hi

I am experiencing a noise from my honda accord (1996 2.2vtec) when i am in 1st gear. the grinding sound comes when i rev the accelerator to around 1000 rpm and release clucth to move. the sound is only there for a moment and then goes as i increase rev. the car has around 105k on the clock, but i have no idea what this could be,

any advice would be greatly appreciated.

hi Simon,

Thanks for your prompt reply.

Do you know how serious a problem this is and aprrox how much it will cost to fix.
You see I just bought this car recently and am unsure how long this has been going on.

cheers

Sounds like the clutch release bearing.
