it is very possible to fix dead batteries.. What needs to be done is either reseting the eeprom and clearing all the error codes in the battery using and interface cable, or you can do the frezzing trick, (Illustarted below) Or you can take it apart carefully with an exacto knife and pop the cells out and replace them with identical ones...
Lets take a look right quick, LI-ION does not have memory effects, we know this because unlike nicads, crystals do not form inside of the batteries, instead, these batteriers are monitored by onboared software on the eeprom chip inside of them.. Its just like an obd2 code in a car computer, if something gets flagged potentially very bad, it cuts that part of the battery or kills it completley before it decides to either burn you or explode (These programs were put in to reduce cost to factory and insurance claims, very ingeniuse if you ask me)
