Landrover - Freelander knocking noise in reverse?

When reversing especially in right hand lock there is a loud clicking (crunching) noise to the offside rear of the car. No noise when driving forwards.
Viscous coupling and transfer box have been changed recently.
Any ideas what the problem could be?
