my car doesnt seem to wanna go into gear it feels like the clutch isnt catching. it wont accelerate. is that my clutch ?

Sounds very much like clutch prob to me. Have you got a clutch at the pedal, does the pedal feel like is usually does or is it notchy and hard to press to the floor? If your car won't go into gear with the engine NOT RUNNING then it may not be the clutch and could be the gear box or selector mechanism come loose.
