i have a 12 mth old mfi supplied diplomat apm8554 washing machine that washes fine but will not dispence the fabric softner at the end of the cycle to finish the wash,when i look in dispencer the liquid is still there!although wash cycle completed.

I had the same thing, it was pointed out to me by the repair man (who was fixing something else), that if you over-fill it, it won't dispense.
Ever since I've filled it to just below the max line and its gone fine

I have a front loading washing machine that will do the same thing. On my machine I can remove the dispencer drawer. It will have hard water build up in it, and you just need to clean it.
