how to bleed/prime my boiler?

I have a worcester danesmoor 12/14 boiler. Unfortunately i completely ran out of oil. I now have oil but the boiler only runs for about 30 seconds before cutting out and i have to press the reset button. I dont think the oil is getting through properly. Is there any way i can drain some oil out of the boiler to ensure oil ges through

On the pump, there is a bleeder valve. Looks like a bleeder vale on a claiper. Hit the reset button, while it is running crack the bleeder valve open until all the air escapes. You may have to repeat.
