HI THERE I HAVE A 1999 NISSAN MICRA WITH A CVT GEARBOX. THE CAR DOESNT COME OUT OF FIRST GEAR AND DOESNT GO FASTER THAN 20MPH. wE HAVE REPLACED EVERY PART POSSIBLE IN THE GEARBOX AND THE PROBLEM IS STILL THERE. WE THEN REPLACED THE ECU FOR THE GEARBOX WITH NO LUCK STILL. IS THERE ANYTHING THAT YOU CAN THINK OF SUCH AS A WIRING FAULT? MANY THANKS ALASTAIR.

The electro magnetic powder clutch has no effect on the gearbox changing ratio,and it can be reconditioned.
What have you replaced?
Have you rebuilt the gearbox?

common problem is the torque convertor which is electro magnetic and not servicable new gearbox i'm afraid
