megane scenic 2005 dci1.5 wont start?

i think i have found the fault on my scenic it wont start i tried bumping, it still wont start i lifted bonnet and checked battery this is ok ,then i followed battery cable down to starter motor there i found a problem the connecter thats bolted on to the starter motor has snapped on the neck of connector could this be the problem why it wont start or is my starter motor u.s could i go to an auto electrician and get a new connector put on battery cable or starter cable or do you have to replace the whole thing hope to hear from you soon

hi i had the same problem and it was the battery terminal clamps (sorry think thats what they are called). Its the metal quite large ones but just to let you know aswell i dont think they are that easy to find i went to a well stocked parts store and they didnt have them. After fitting new ones though i havent had a problem. Hope this helps.

It sounds like it could be your problem. Buy a new cable from renault if its not too expensive.

An auto electrician should be able to replace the connector quite cheaply. If the connection is broken the starter motor will not operate. It will also affect the electrical supply elsewhere.
