How can i diagnose my Mondeo TDDI idle/clutch fault?

On tickover the engine intermittently starts to labour and rattle. If I depress the clutch it stops. When pulling away at low revs the same labouring/groaning noice is heard until the clutch is fully released and the car is moving. Can anyone offer help?

This sounds like a problem with a worn split flywheel / springs assembly. The rattling is caused by worn springs between the flywheels which cause misalignment of the flywheels.
